Sedums are great for bees and butterflies too Jack, and are easy to propagate. You can pull little bits off and stick them in a pot of gritty compost and they'll take no problem. A sunny spot which free draining soil is best for them.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
Ah good, Fairygirl, I'm trying to cram in as many bee and butterfly friendly plants, so it's good I have one already! Yes, thanks for the info, I was just looking up about propagating them, would be nice to have a bigger cluster, they are lovely looking later in the year.
Hostafan - at my last house we got some Vinca major for covering a bare bit next to Hostas near the little pond, but it was never a problem as the bunnies kept it pruned - constantly
I have the white one here for my back fence shady border.
Jack - you'll get lots of suggestions on the forum for bee and butterfly planting as many of us are very keen on doing the same

Yes - 1 is a sedum. I've just divided some of mine. They respond well to this at this time of year. When they flower later in the year the butterflies will love them - here's mine in bloom last year.

looking at the size of the flower to leaf size, I think it might be Vinca Minor. Difficult from the photo.
In my experience, vinca major can be a bit of a thug. Fine if you've, say, a large bank to cover, but vinca minor behaves more sociably.

Great pics Stacey, my Sedum doesn't look like that though so I wonder if that's what it is?
