Azalea and snowberry shrubs

Peanuts3Peanuts3 Posts: 759

Today whilst cutting back the snowberry hedge I found this azalea that had obviously been planted a few years back.  I guess it has been smothered by the snowberry, so I've cleared the area around it and given it some azalea food.  Do you think it will now flourish ? Anything else I can do for it ?

I have currently cut down the snowberry to above ground level and will see how it looks and try and dig out as much as I can.  Is this the best way to get rid of snowberry?  From what I've read, once you've got snowberry it is hard to get rid off. Any advice ?

Thank youimage

It looks a bit leggy to me peanuts. I'd be tempted to move it really its got a lot of competition where it is. It looks like it will need a lot of tlc, but they can come back with time.
