Thought I'd share a pic of my pond now it's almost sorted:

It was easier making the pond than getting the photo to fit image

Very nice Victoria, looks like a little calm oasis in a busy garden, i even spotted the blanket weed draped over the logs from an earlier picture of yours, excuse my ignorance, are those little blue sparkles dotted around the pond Forget-me-nots?

    Hi P-G,image

They are the dregs of normal fmn's although some are planted in the bog. The proper water ones are sat in the water but haven't flowered...But I only got them this year so perhaps still settling in...

P.S: thanks for spotting my blanket weed mess imageimage

I planted fmn's round the pond margins a few weeks back there doing well, though not flowering either, but i am further North than you, didn't think to plant garden variety in surrounding area, that a great idea, i also have small bog area just got Marsh Marigolds, Iris and Houttuynia in there at the moment, i kind of just plop my blanket weed onto the bog garden, not that i have much..  image

I love my bog garden, I'd never be without one now- it opens up new planting possibilities.

I had to look up Houttuynia, Ive not heard of that before. I'm testing marsh cinquefoil which looks like it might flower this year and am persevering with some bistort which isn't exactly thriving...

All very exciting though- just trying to create some safe, undercover access around the pond for the critters as at the moment it's a bit open plan...
