    Redex is still around Alan - it claims to keep your engine and carbs (or injectors) clear of nasty deposits and pollutants. I used to give my 1964 Vauxhall of a shot of it every so often but it was cheaper just to rebuild the carb if it wasn't running right. They say it works for modern cars but I imagine only if your car spends most of its time idling and doesn't have the much needed blast down the motorway that most cars need to clear the deposits themselves.

  • Oh yes, a can of Redex kept by the pumps - supposed to clean the carburettor/points etc. 

    And of course, that was in the days when you sat in your car and waited while someone came out and filled your tank for you and you said 'put it on the account' and sped off. image
