Clarington, that is a great idea about nearly dead plants, esp. at B&Q (they don't seem to know about water thereimage)

I am trying to work out how I can make a primitive 'tray' or shelf to go in the Vauxhall Astra, to take more trays of small pots on a second tier, without squashing the first layer.

I've got quite a few Verbena Bonariensis in fair sized potsimage

I have got loads of free packets of seeds from magazines from the last couple of years which I would gladly send if they would be of use.Just let me know when to send and where to.

I don't mind collecting any seeds to send on.as I mentioned before. Once there is a central place to send them, I will box them all up and send on by courier. As you can send 15kg for around£10, I can afford that, if people don't mind sending by 2nd class post to me. All contributors will be named.

Rosie, Thought I could order them into veg, annual flowers, perennials, herbs, then people could choose what suits at the destination?

Will be dividing and growing extra. A chance to change those beds after all, without wasting plants!

Rosie - I'm South Yorkshire near Sheffield but closer the time when plants are wanted I'll see what's happening in ways of transport and if there's enough of us locally / on route and we can then discuss either loading up my truck and having a road trip or getting parcels sent down.

I have just had this message from the Somerset message board.  I told them that you were all thinking of them, and that there was a seed collection underway, and offers of plants, and sowing extra, etc.  Here is what came back as a message  to you all:

"That is just wonderful.  Sometimes things happen in life which can make one want to give it all up, and then total strangers get together in order to make better and life once again becomes bearable. Peoples kindness knows no bounds!"

So, you are already helping just by being WILLING to help and showing that you care!  Well done everyone!
