That gives me an idea - I'll ask some of my Somerset contacts to take a few photos of gardens as the waters recede, and try to post some here.  It will let us all see what sort of task we are up against.  (And as time goes on, hopefully we can have some 'before and after' comparisons!)

The photographs do a awful job of reminding you that its not just a case for the worst affected of popping some new plants in some people have first got to clear all kind of things from their land - I saw one imagine that showed a house whose driveway had collected four oil containers (the big green things you use to heat your home from) which makes you wonder if their contents had been lost into the waters along with the dead animals, sewage, rotting feed....

Rosie, I presume you are just looking for flower seeds? I will have a look what I have got and if I don't have any I will buy some and send them on, it's the least I can do.  my garden is only a bit sludgy and I really feel for those people who have lost all their garden image

GJ, I've PM'd you but it wouldn't let me do it from your avatar so please can you let me know you have the message.  Thanks image

Thanks TN - yes please!   Any seeds would be very gratefully received - especially perhaps flowers (or veg) that would do well in pots and planters?  Because I think in many gardens the soil will be too badly affected to plant much for a season or so.

In case your message to GJ didn't work, I've PM'd you with her address.

Thanks again, and good luck with the sludgy garden!
