Have just been to my local farm shop and bought another 50 pots for 50p. I wash them with a hard brush and disinfectant, as these would have been used by commercial growers from all over Europe.image

    Bumping!

  • I was wondering about the possibility of setting up a paypal account or something similar and collecting donations online to help provide seeds and other odd bits and bobs for garderners who have been worst effected.. We would need ALOT of money to do this so im not sure if it would be possible logistically but what to you guys think?

Dirty D, I think someone has mentioned a  fund already in existence earlier in thread. I don't have time to look for it now, will try to laterimage

Hi DD, there is already a justgiving page set up for the flood victims (not specifically for gardens, but nevertheless...)

There is also a suggestion on the 'Community Blooms' facebook page that people could sponsor a planter.  Someone is making some big chunky planters that can be used to brighten up the gardens that can't be replanted;  the plants are being grown (partly from our seeds!) and donated (partly by us!) but there is so far no way of funding the raw materials for the planters.  I think they are costing about £6 each to make, so the suggestion was that individuals or groups could 'sponsor' one for £6 and get their name put on it.   Just an idea, let me know if you'd like to know more...
