.... and here are Lizzie's plants safely arrived at the Somerset 'plant creche', getting tender love and care until they are adopted by needy gardeners. First load delivered - well done message board! (If anyone wants to see more on facebook, go to the facebook page called 'Community Blooms'.)
Aha! OK....so we're going to need some sort of relay to get plants from Peterborough to the M4 or M5. Can anyone reading this offer any help (or offer to be a staging post to look after plants between lifts?)
Our furthest flung member seems to be gardenjeannie... in Ayr! She thinks should might be able to get her plants down south as far as the M6 junction 23-ish. But then we'd need a relay for getting them further south....any suggestions?
I'm continuing to look for help from national couriers and chains, but not even having my notes acknowledged so far. Will keep trying... but in the meantime wouldn't it be great it we could sort something out ourselves?
Rosie, in about a month or 6 weeks I will have some things to bring down of a reasonable size; I could possibly (space permitting) collect from nut. I would then stay overnight with a friend in London, do Somerset and back in a day (I would love to meet the people at the plant creche) stay again in London and then back up to Norfolk My car is just a Vauxhall Astra hatchback. I have a lot of fold up crates which could be stacked double height with plants that are not too tall.
My car is LPG, so info about LPG garages in the area would be welcome

Good morning; today I will be potting up hundreds of seedlings, some, like Holly Hocks for flowering next year.
As I plant out last year's babies I'm potting on a few of each.
I also have a few shrubby things.

Artjak, you are a STAR!
Right, does anyone know of any LPG garages on the way from London to Somerset? I think we are talking M3, A303.
I'll check out the Somerset end...
