The problem Welshonion is Good Friday can be any where from late March to late April.

Around here we sow first early spuds around Patricks day, frost protection will be needed during April but that's the price we pay for early potatoes.

The reason it was traditional was because us peasants got a day off which provided the time for the planting.

But with Good Friday being a moveable feast... As it happens, Good Friday will be about right this year but not every year.
  • what is the best way to store seed potatoes to keep back for planting out in September so I can have home grown potatoes for Christmas.
