I have a second year foxglove, with huge leaves but it didn't bloom.  Did I plant it too deep, too shallow?

I find this often happens, it will be splendid next year. We make a clear distinction between annual, biennial and perennial but the plants don't. I sowed some foxgloves very late last year, about half flowered this year and the rest are large clumps of leaves for next year flowering. Nothing wrong with your plant or your technique.

Whew!!  Thanks! Now what do I do with these leaves before winter? Leave them on, or chop - down to the ground?  I live in Zone 4.

Foxgloves are native to the uk and hardy everywhere here, they look after themselves.
