Dusty Manure
Never thought id hear myself ask a question about dusty manure!!
I recently acquired a bag of horse manure, for my newly acquired garden, and given that i dont have a compost heap i decided to mix it with some used coffee grounds, and leave in a giant plastic pot to rot. its rotting away nicely, steaming when i turn it every few days, and not smelly. however. before i turn it, there is white hairy cobwebby type fluff on the top, some kind of mould i presume? and also parts of it (im guessing the coffee groundy parts) are kind of ashy or almost dusty. Are these normal parts of having a random bucket of rotting horse manure in ones garage, or should i be concerned!?
thanks!

Yes - sounds good stuff to me
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
Yep, perfectly normal as Dove says. The white stuff is fungal mycelium which is helping to break it down. Try and keep it slightly moist - add a bit of water if it gets too dry.
I get crops of proper toadstools on mine.

Brilliant! It's got a makeshift lid on. But I leave a gap for air, sound ok?
Its been there here for a few weeks now. This week I'm going to be digging a new bed in the garden for annuals in the summer. Am I ok to dig some in now when making the bed, or should I let it rot further?
