No Aconites yet
in Talkback
I planted some winter aconites last year - as small green plants with yellow flowers. So far there is no sign of them. Did I do something wrong or do they sulk for a year or so? Any advice welcome!

I think it may be that they'll peep out in a while .... maybe they're not convinced that spring's coming yet

Oh thank you - I always was impatient!
Hopefully they will appear. Being woodland plants they do need shade in the Summer to emulate tree foliage and stop them drying out. I didn't provide that the first time I grew them and only one came up the next year.
I couldn't get them going here for years though they seeded everywhere in my last garden. They're beginning to take off now.
