Mine are thriving and ready to go outside. gather they do well in Stir Frys and raw in salad. eat just like Mange Touts, but be sure not to let them get too big.Supposed to taste like asparagus.
biofreak I don't want to upset you but they are vile in my opinion. Please let us know if you grow some that taste nice. I planted out and gave plenty of water & they produced, but pick each day
I have never tried them so will let you know. I have just planted them out and shall await results. Nobody seems very posiive to date - but I like a challenge.
They are best used in Asian cooking. Pick them small and slice so they look like 4 pointed stars. Steam them very lightly only 1-2 minutes. Use them in salads or mix them in butter.
dont grow them if you don’t stir fry or steam vegetables.
Don’t grow them if your not vigilant with picking.
i water my plants 2 times a day when it’s dry.
if your not a foodie like me ( lived in Asia for years) then you probably won’t find ways to eat them.
We grew them one year and agree that the flowers are lovely but if you don't pick whilst small then you can't eat them! Much better to go for mange tout as suggested
