Pruning budleia
I need to prune two budleia which are 9 months old. They are both giving out lots of growth. I have just watched Monty pruning one,but would like advice. Can I use the new growth that I will be cutting off for cuttings and hopefully swap it for some cuttings of Anemone nemorosa vestral which I am after.
Any advice would be good.
Thanks

Hi David, not quite sure who you want to swap with. We have a seed swap on the forum.
If you want pruning advice I'm sure we can help.
I cut my buddleia back a bit before winter, to stop them being blown about, then right back after the winter. You can use the bits for cuttings (not my strong point)
Anemone nemorosa are corms. You'll probably find some in the GCs soon. 'Vestral' is popular so you should find that one

Thanks KEF. I will look at the seed swap but I would like to get the anemone if anybody has one.
Monty said cut the budleia at the second but bud, would you agree?
like Nut says, cut them back a but before winter to stop wind rock (tearing roots by wind) and then cut the back to roughly a foot in Feb.
Buddlejas are under pruning code 1B, which basically means what is said above
Just out of interest, what buddlejas are they?
Sorry for the questions. How to I find the seed swap ? GC..... what is that? and not sure of the names. Will try to find out as soon as possible.

If you end up buying them, Pottertons are good, I've been there, lovely plants.

Sorry David, GC is Garden Centre.
The seed swap is a bit idle at the moment. It will come to the top of the forum when we start harvesting seeds again, or maybe sooner if people have left-overs when they sow in spring

Thanks everybody
David, I dug up the seed swap so you can see how it goes.
There's also one called seed share in the forum somewhere.
