My garden thinks it's spring

in Talkback
Hi, I went out in the garden today and all my clematis and delphiniums have new growth, my question is, if the weather changes and we get freezing temperatures what will happen to these plants? If the new growth is killed off by frost will the plants recover and come up again when spring really arrives?

I often find very early growth on clematis - if a sharp cold snap does damage the new shoots it won't do any long term harm and when the real spring comes it'll shoot again. I think the delphiniums will do the same.

Thanks Dovefromabove thats put my mind at rest, it would be great if the weather stays like this for the rest of the winter- minus the rain- and then we can have a nice early spring, the complete opposite of last year.
It would be lovely, and the birds would be happy, they're prospecting for nests already, but don't count on it
