North West corner of garden
in Plants
Hi everyone
At the bottom of our garden we have Elder and Hawthorn trees which give some screening from the houses beyond. The north west corner is very bare and is screaming out for a large shrub to fill the space and complete the screening. Our soil is clay and whatever I put in will need to cope with a bit shade form the neighbouring Elder, does anyone please have ideas for me? Of course it would be lovely to have something that flowers.

Fatsia japonica - big, doesn't mind shade, rather exotic looking, but flowers are insignificant.
Laurel will grow well in most conditions and gives good screening, but is rather plain.
