Another lovely day forecast for Bristol today at least till 6pm, flumpy1 so more work in the butterfly garden after picking in the strawberries. The first early potatoes need lifting too. The autumn sown broad beans will now be allowed to set seed as the spring sown ones are ready for picking. I have flowers on my cucamelons and peppers which are getting little fruits now and a great tomato crop so all very exciting as well as beautiful. Tomorrow is a day off as it is the AGS summer outing. It looks like the next five days are fine too.
Good morning a cooler statheatre to the day, good. Much to do after the last few weeks of commitments elsewhere.
The growth here is lush too Marion, the wisteria in paricular needs trimming back and the espalier apple to be pruned, and, well I know that as I go around theatre garden there will be more to do.
Beautiful photos, I'll get mine edited (to avoid them aching neck syndrome!) Enjoy the day

Tomorrow is another day off! I am visiting Waterperry Gdns and Asthall Manor in Oxfordshire with the AGS group. Should be able to take my camera this time and show you some of the lovely sights.
Marion your photos are beautiful, I love the last yellow flower it's like a little windmill, my husband and brother have cut two big conifers down today as the are sucking the life out of our lawn, we are going to replace them with three small holly trees, plus they replaced four new fence panels, I had to shut my eyes when they lifted them in the air, we also ate fresh strawberries out of our garden they where gorgeous so juicy mmmm, ready for our tea now, weather here as been grey but warm again, hoping for rain in the night to water the plants, are you having potatoes tonight Marion? And strawberries for dessert mmmmm
Just had my strawberries and icwcream. frumpyi. I have had to watch all my outdoor tomatoes and still have to do the indoor ones as I leave early for my day out tomorrow. That last pic is the mother of all the Honka dahlias of which there are many now. It was given me by a FB friend, Philip Orley who won the Silver Medal for most points last year for dahlias. I was very proud to be entrusted with it.
Thats lovely of him to give you the dahlias, when my dahlias flower i will send you a photo, have a lovely day tomorrow and the weather is kind to you night god bless
Aww, flumpy1 the weather was kind and we saw two absolutely beautiful gardens. marvellous stone sculptures all explained as to how the rocks came about by the curator who came from Oxford Natural History museum and a wonderful concertof English choral music in the church by the Lower Windrush Choral Society. The acoustics were superb and my new hearing aids worked perfectly. I just squirmed with delight when I heard the base singer, something I have not been able to do for ten years. We saw and smelled beautiful roses by the million. very tired now but oh so content with the joys created and inspired by superb gardeners. Got three new plants too.
