Kooks like today is a repeat of yesterday weatherwise. i have worked hard all morning and come in for lunch and it is clouding over, just like it did yesterday. then we had very heavy showers so i shall have to take my umbrella up the butterfly garden They (the butterflies) were mating frantically this morning. Only one more acers to be planted out now. it will have to be planted on its own as the other three make a nice group together.
It looks lovely, I may have to get them , it's been raining here on and off how's it been in Bristol?, it looks like the weather is going to cheer up tomorrow
Two very busy days. Yesterday wet morning at Longstock water gardens, voted the best water gardens in the world by the Waterlily Society and easy to see why. Only the native yellow one in flower for us but oh the edging plants were superb. Great inspiration for my new bog garden I am creating. Then the sun came out and we arrived at Mottisfont Abbey for lunch and to be bowled over by the scent from the roses, peonies, carnations and more lovely irises including an almost black one and a lovely bright yellow and purple one. Today I had a two and a half hour session with a reporter and photographer from Amateur Gardenng Magazine for an article in the autumn about Mr. Fothergills Nation of Gardeners trials. Modelling is a tiring business! But the sun shone in the afternoon and I sat ou in the garden with my "new " book from the second hand book shop at Mottisfont abbey called " the Naturalist's Garden" Bliss.
Awe Marion, you sound like you've had the most perfect day, glad the sun came out for you, in the NW it's rained all day then at 5pm the sky's cleared , hey I didn't know you where a model Marion, You kept that one secret (Only joking) , what are you up to tomorrow?, are you going to rest and read some more of your book?
45 gazania plants arrived today so have to go to the shops for compost as they need potted up for a few weeks, flumpy1. The green wheeliebin gets emptied tomorrow morning and I have weed containers all full and ready to fill it up again. Probably sit for an hour in te garden with my book which I am enjoying. Saturday is not one to look forward to weatherwise but we may be lucky. Hope you escape the thunder and lightning and huge hailstones.
Last fine day for a while according to my local forecast so all systems go. On my outing I bought a red fern for my fernery, another "Caramel" heuchera and a golden French oregano which all need planted. I will fill up the green wheeliebin again as my four compost bins need to settle to make more room. Lots of tomatoes growing on my seed sown and ready plants for the Mr. Fthergill trials. I do hope we do not get blight but this rainy thundery warm weather that is coming is ideal for it. I only hope the shelter of the bungalow can save my trials. I water them with tap water when I think rainwater may have the blight spores in it.
Hi Marion, it's been really warm working today, even put the air-conditioning on , I kept looking out the window and thinking mmm could do with cutting my lawn before the rain starts tomorrow, I've been told Sunday is going to be fine tho, you sound like you've been busy again today, hope your tomatoes pull through the bad weather Marion, I'll keep my fingers crossed for you, having my hair done in the morn That's my pampering for a hard weeks work
