Small nurseries online

VerdunVerdun Posts: 23,348

I have been searching for certain plants recently and have stumbled across several small nurseries on line.

I have placed an order with one of them.  The exchange of initial emails was pleasant, informative and efficient.  The nursery stocks rockery and small plants and looks excellent.  The proof of the pudding will be when my small order of plants arrives.  Just been told it will be dispatched on Monday and delivered on Tuesday.

I have had excellent service from the National Herb Centre last year when I purchased plants.....albeit not herbs.....I could not get elsewhere for a very reasonable price.   Over recent years I have had great service from many apparently small nurseries online.    They put T & M and the like in the shade for plant quality and service

Others know of such nurseries?

I refer to this site a lot, which contains links to a number of small specialist nurseries.  I especially like the one at Roseland House for it's climbers....but there are many others here.... I find it a pleasure to explore... I hope you do too...

  • I shall be keeping my eye on this thread

    Clueless

  • I have bought wildflower seeds from nutsncones from ebay ( they do have their own web site www.nutsncones.co.uk....... I so far am very very impressed they sent the wrong seeds and were apologetic and got the right packet to me the next day and have me some freebies.... They sell everything seed wise including a fantastic tomato collection. I obviously don't know yet what the seeds will do but..... I also bought wild garlic last year from ebay and was extremely impressed with the quality that I received. I checked with the seller off ebay that the plants were not harvested from the wild and he sent me images of his fields etc they were clean, strong plants ..... I use ebay a lot and so far have not been dissapointed

  • www.plantsforshade.co.uk  (Long Acre Farm) are very friendly, answer individual queries and send out plants in fabulous condition and beautifully packed. Have used them several times now.

  • I have also used nuts and cones and found them very good. I've also just used candlesby herbs who despatched very quickly and the plants arrived in great condition
