    Hi Billie image

Ive grown them, but think i must have pulled them out nefore they seeded, the only thing i can say is give it a try, although i suspect we will need the warm weather to continue for quite a while longer for the seed to develop. They are a lovely plant, will grow again next year, also have a look at flowering hemp, pretty white flowers quite exotic looking image
  • Hi Beckie, have just looked into the flowering hemp threads but couldn't see any flowers to compare. Ceertainly the leaves look the same.  Do I take it that flowering hemp and cleome are one and the same plant?

Sorry, that was just me rambling, i grew them together as they seemed to like similar conditions and i was pleased with the results, i thought you might like them too image

They wont grow next year, they are annuals, and they wont self seed in this country.

When they finish flowering they set hundreds of seeds you can keep and sow next Spring, in the warmth of your kitchen or propagator

Gardening on the wild, windy west side of Dartmoor.

  • Thanks for that info Lyn  I will definitely attempt to grow them from seed next year as they are really impressive flowers.
