  • Is it OK to plant Turks Cap Lilies into their permanent place in a border this early in the year? i.e. March.
  • when is the best time to plant skyscraoer lilles the best place to plant them in the garden how to plant them and can you plant them in large tubs

    got to say lilies are easy, I pot mine up and just have done some in good large pots about 6/8 inches deep normal compost well covering the bulbs and even put some bark over the top, I have had others in pots for a few years now which I just put close to the walls when they go down  haven't watered all winter but they are just starting to grow so will keep them damp don't drown them and just refresh the soil on the top each spring . They are so rewarding , yes I have had the odd lily beetle but they are so daft being slow and bright red , easy to see I just squash 'em (sorry) ..  also planted some Nerines the same way they are also stunning flowering later in early autum ..

    Although Nerines are planted with nearly there necks showing !!

     

  • I  have lilles in tubs can I put them in the borders now  as I think they would grow better
