Hello Bill, good to see you image

I think some of the old programmes seem funnier 2nd time around, maybe because what is now not PC was okay in the 1970's & 80's plus the clothes make me laugh.

    I won't mention Mrs S's cat. image

  • We love 'Allo 'Allo, and Ever Decreasing Circles, and of course, Last of the Summer Wine - OH says I bear a strong resemblance character-wise to Seymour Utterthwaite - I think that's quite positive image

Bill, am I right in thinking you live in Canada? When I had an American friend to stay a few years back, he was completely bemused by the English class system; I advised him to watch 'keeping up appearances' and all would be made clear!

My fave is 'Dad's Army', the script and the acting are just so brilliant.image

http://www.startrader.co.uk/wed_play/wed_ep_09.htm   a friend's father, Alan Gosling, wrote Happy, which was one of them. Alan was a great tv script writer for Z Cars and other successful series, but sadly he didn't make old bones .... image
