Box Blight

I think some of my lovely potted box balls are suffering from blight, some of the foliage has died on 3 of my plants. Monty on GW suffered similar on his box hedge and he had to cut it right down. I shall do the same.

Does anyone know what causes it, and how it spreads as i have other box balls that I'd like to keep healthy.

  • Post a pic as Buxus has a number of problems. It might just be damage that caused dieback rather than Box Blight.

Monty didn't have box blight.  He'd neglected his hedges because of illness then trimmed them too late in the season so they got frost bite.

You can try cutting yours back to healthy wood to see if they regenerate over the next year.   Destroy all the removed wood and tidy up any fallen stems and foliage then treat the plant and the area with a fungicide.
