You have all inspired me to move a peony that is getting smothered by a prostrate juniper in the front garden. The rest of them have thrived on neglect for decades as it was my father- in-law's garden and he could not managed it eventually. They flower prolifically every year squished between grass and a raised edge near a tree.
I planted four Peony bushes 2 years ago. One of them is small scrawny and doesn't Bloom well. I think I might have planted him a little too deep. Is it OK to uproot him and raised him up a little bit?
My daughter has a small garden on a hill with very thin soil and an inherited leylandii hedge . There are three self seeded peonies still growing out from under a hedge. I am impressed by their stamina.
