Dwarf Apricot turning white?!?!?

Hello,

First ever post so please be gentle! 

I have a dwarf apricot plant which didn't do well last year (no fruit, hardly any leaves). Looking at it today for the first time in a few months I can see a white / grey colouring taking over the plant.

Any idea what I should do? Is the plant on its way out?
