    Oh mine stopped flowering ages ago...I never did anything in the garden last year (pruning etc) 'cause I had no time and no knowledge so I think probably it didn't flower very well 'cause it didn't do anything with it.

    All I can add is that Solanum Crispum has seemed hardy enough in my garden ( Yorkshire) but it is behind a greenhouse growing up and hiding a boundry fence. I do prune it quite hard in spring or it just flowers at the top. If I remember correctly it is a skin irritant so I wear gloves when pruning it, might be wrong on that.

    Verdun it's purple / lilac not blue.

    Lavatera will flower right through from June to Sept/Oct, mine's just finished flowering, best pruned in the spring.

     

  • Interesting that you described the Lavatera as 'pink marshmallow coloured' as it comes from the same family as the plant that was used to make marshmallows.
