The light was good and in the absence of a tripod I decided to site the camera on the conveniently situated rocks at the side of the river (this gave the low angle effect) also used the self-timer avoided camera shake.
The camera was set on shutter priority at something like 1/3rd sec.
ahhh...never thought of using the self timer to avoid camera shake! As you can see I am very much a novice Mind you I have just treated myself to a very nice tripod so looking forward to getting out with it.
Good luck with your new tripod, Nikki. As for being a 'novice', I most certainly am too, but have learned a few bits & bobs since joining our local camera club...using the self-timer when you don't have a tripod at hand being a case in point.
