well thats another story david, i only walked across the field today so OH wasnt with me, i opened the monopod and the top section opened as far as it would go exposing the spring unfortunatly it was too far and then i couldnt grasp it hard enough to turn it and get it closed. so i used a rock a tree branch and my knee to steady the camera.
