Amazing picture David. Been looking at some cameras online around the £300 mark. Nikons and canons. Basically, what should I be looking for and compare?
Hi Verdun,
Have a look at the Panasonic Range - most of their cameras now have Leica lenses and they are superb!
My current version is the TZ40 and is packed with features, is small enough to fit comfortably in a pocket, has a macro setting and an amazing telphoto facility for such a small camera. If you have a smart phone it will wirelessly transfer pics you take onto the phone just by placing the phone close to the camera, so that you can email them instantly to friends and family (though that function does not work with an Apple iPhone! - transfer to the iPhone that is!). Price for the TZ40 is around £230 in stores such as John Lewis but you may be able to get it cheaper from specialised Camera shops (if it does what you want it to).
I've taken a leisurely look back at recent pics posted here this morning, and I have to say that (IMHO) 'little boy on a tractor' posted by James is a completion winner….fantastic composure!
Love everyone's photos. I'm a rubbish photogragher and I've only got a cheap digital camera. I just take photos to keep some sort of record of the garden and wildlife arround me.
Adders are not everyone's taste but I feel privileged to see them. I always keep the dog on the lead where they might be as we've had a few dogs bitten this year.
I live near to and visit often, a forested area where there are supposed to be plenty, but I've never been lucky enough to see one, let alone take a pic.

It would be an even harder drive indoors

Someone has a tile missing:
I have no experience of Panasonic cameras, but do know they were awarded 'best photography brand' by Which 2013.

Beautiful Pam
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
Beautiful shot, Pam.
