But David, wasn't it you who enlarged the bird and re-posted it?

Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.

Those are terrific pix diggindoris. Aren't dragonflies stunning? I remember walking one of the hills up at Loch Etive in late summer and as we walked over the marshy low lying area clouds of dragonflies took off in front of us.  Wasn't quick enough to get pix though - too busy enjoying the sight image

It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

I asked for approval for taking the liberty of changing someone else's photo, in the absence of that approval I thought it appropriate to remove it.

    Btw, I didn't enlarge it.

OH and I took the same photo in Oxford, mine is a bit dull, his is brighter, but his was too big and wouldn't upload. So he reduced it as I couldn't manage it, but it's tiny now. He wouldn't stop to explain how he reduced - he's rushed off to mow the lawn. Think it's the first time he's managed to do it anyway! I've asked on previous threads how to reduce photos, but the few answers I had didn't work. Does anyone know?

The best free software for doing this is Irfanview which only works on PCs.  You can get it from here:

    http://www.irfanview.com/

It is used by professionals too - I have full photoshop at work but do things like resizing, cropping etc in Irfanview as it's just so quick and easy.  To learn how to use it, google "irfanview tutorial" - there are lots out there including video tutorials. image

It can also do things like this:

thank you Fairygirl and Forester2 for the compliments. I always have my camera handy to catch a good shot if I can. Have a look at my magnolia flower by my name.

Fairygirl I'd have loved to be in Loch Etive to see that. I love that place. We used to go there every 2 years before my husband had a stroke. That ride down to the end of the road truly remarkable. Such a peaceful place.
