non blooming of astilbes

My astilbes produced flowers but did not bloom for the first time in five years, anyone know what caused that.

Not quite sure what you mean, but as Verdun says astilbes are moisture lovers. I grow mine in a boggy area which also gets a good amount of sun and they flowered as normal this year.
