Japenese Barberry

Hi there,

I am new here as just bought first house and are making the garden our own.  Would like to know if Japenese Barberry is safe to have in garden as I would like to move one from front to back garden as having work done.  I really like it due to its colour and good cat deterrant but had heard it was a spreader of Lyme Disease.

Grateful for any thoughts,

Many thanks

Lyme disease is spread by bites form infected ticks.  Not from plants.  Go ahead and move it.

Wrong disease, berberis has been associated with stem rust in wheat.
