My favourite nurseries

AWBAWB Posts: 421

Langthornes Plantery, a very good selection of trees, plants for shady areas and a great range of perennials.

Beeches at Ashdon. small by some standards but perfectly formed. trees again and shrubs.

Beth Chattos, reasonably priced, but plants not individually labeled.

have I missed any ? Your views appreciated.

A good set of nurseries there AWB. I still sometimes visit Beeches  but have moved to the furthest tip of Cambridgeshire and it's a long way for a good nursery.

For me t's now Rasell's at Little Bytham, or in the other direction, West Acre in Norfolk.

...just north of Colchester...comes under Suffolk I think, at East Bergholt... if you don't know this one,...well, I think it's worth a visit if you can...just a wonderful place all round, particularly in Spring when all their Camellias are in bloom at the entrance...
