All of my 7 patio roses had blackspot during the summer. However, this did not stop them from blooming and I had a really good show. I checked them every day and removed any affected leaves and cleared the ones which had fallen into the pots. By mid-September, I was left with 7 pots of sticks, completely bare of leaves or buds. Not one to be put off easily I fed and watered them before going away for 3 weeks. I was hoping they would perk up by the time I got back but I was in for a shock. I found 7 beautiful rose bushes with full glossy leaves, some with buds and some in bloom - wonderful!
Have been advised to spray the soil around the base of my roses with Jays Fluid to help control black spot, would this be beneficial also would it harm the bulbs that are planted around the roses.Would welcome any advice as blackspot has become quiet a problem.
I was using a brilliant product made by Bio called simply Multirose, a foliar feed, bug killer and black-spot preventative, small box with 5 sachets of dried mix. If anyone knows of a supplier please let us know, cannot find it online. My roses have been the best ever, shiny leaves, masses of blooms and the occasional leaf with black-spot easily removed and disposed of. I suppose now I will have to use 3 separate products.
