mixed bulbs

I bought a 'mixed bag' of spring bulbs at a local fete! Can i plant them into some large tubs in a mix or do i need to separate out into different  types; if poss?  They were a bargain and I think there are tulips, crocus and daffs.

I'd just plant them and see what you get. They won't all flower at the same time but when they do you can mark which are the same and plant those together. It would be difficult to separate the different narcissi etc before you see them in flower

  • I don't often differ from my good friend Nut, but I prefer spring bulbs in clumps/pots  of the same type. If you can separate them into their groups that might be worth a try.

You're right WW. But I think it's the different narcissi etc that need separating and I don't see how you can do that. I agree, one of this and one of that make a poor show

They should be fairly easy to separate, they are quite different.

  • Brill advice! when it stops raining i will get back to the garden
