Can some body tell me why my dahlias have just starded to flower

Did you put them in late? Are they grown from seed or cuttings or tuber?
Are they planted in full Sun or shade?
I've grow them from cuttings and not in full sun does that make a difference also I've got aces in pots do I have to take them in this time off year or green house them
