Morning KEF Are the magpies expecting a BBQ this evening?
Now that the feeders have been filled there's a flock of goldfinch fledglings out there, they really are noisy!
I think the hedgehogs must have had a pool party last night - the long grass next to the pond has been bashed down into the water in one area and the Lesser Spearwort flowers are in the water!
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
Morning all. Bluetits here seem happy though practicing their take off and landings over the pond is a bit scary!
Everything that wasn't rained on has been given a good soaking. Now I've a weekend of vintage fire emergency services - good job I'm not used to having air conditioning ina vehicle for a two hour drive!
I'm hoping we can Dove - we've a big bbq planned! (I'm driving an ambulance and there'll be a police car going too but they're not as fun as the fire engines).
Urgh. . . it's the weekend, what am I doing being awake so early? Dove, does the body clock you lent me not have a weekend setting?
Morning all Tis overcast here but not cold. I fear we may be in for the mugginess others had yesterday Today I will mostly be wandering into the town for a Fathers Day card and gift. I might purchase some more plants too. Well it would be rude not to
I think the birds think the garden belongs to them Fairygirl, but I suppose it does really. The baby blackbirds make such a fuss when I'm near the redcurrants.
I had my first meal with my new potatoes yesterday, lovely, but they are showing the first signs of blight. I've picked the few leaves off with the black spots on but the tops are so lush and have flopped over so I think the blight will win. The advice is to cut the tops off but should I do this now when there is only the odd spot on the leaves or wait. The variety is PentlandJavelin. Can I ask your thoughts, Dove, please?

Morning all, bright and sunny with a haze over the meadow that backs on to us. Boy during the night!
We are really lucky we get lots of birds in our garden, we get a woodpecker sometimes. Keep trying to get a pic but he's too fast.
Off for some brekkie and a cuppa, anyone want one
