Phew!  Temp got up to 27.9C today - at the moment it's 24.6C  bright sunshine and white fluffies image

Lots done today - two pots of Morning Glories potted and a dozen around canes in the front garden - quite gritty soil there so snails aren't keen on it - I shall put a slug pub nearby.  Lots of cutting back done - most of the Sweet Rocket had gone over so I've cut them back, and the Aquilegia alpinas and irises too, and taken the last of the dead tulip leaves off.  I'm always a bit reluctant to cut them all back, but when I'd done it I could see that the planning had worked - once the aquilegias were down the lovely pink of the DA rose Mayflower came to the fore, and the plummy and green shades of the astrantia - I love it when a plan works image

I've also done lots of watering - this free draining loam is lovely most of the time, but the veg patch does need keeping an eye on or plants begin to wilt.

Now a curry of leftover lamb is simmering on the hob - ready in 10 mns.

Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.

Lovely and sunny outside but I'm back in an office (my own at least) trying to work out how to "correctly" answer those generic "why do you want to work for us" questions.

As you can tell its not going well!!

    Hugs Clari.

Now this changeable weather has produced bright sun and lovely high temps. Shorts back on or I'll melt in conservatory whilst I scoff pizza.

    Hi all

Lovely evening light across the meadow. Lots of bat food but a serious shortage of bats.

Had to shred a mountain of sticks this morning. not a summer job but the growth this year is unbelievable. Field maples trying to get in the shed, hawthorn so heavy the branches bent right to the ground. Summat had to be done.

Found one of the arisaemas under the weeds

I shall have to see if I can work out which one it is. Any ideas?

Yes, SGL. I am waiting for the next seed pod to pop, then I will have some single yellow, double pink spotted, and today I have taken off some Helleborus niger seed. Do you want all three or just the spotted.?

Panda, I saw your twin on ebay last night.
