Raining now, but it has been a lovely day, hot hot hot.
Now have nearly all my tender plants outside, except for a few Dahlias which are rather short, My seed raised Bishops Children are about to flower, not bad as sown in February. I wonder what colours they will be?
Morning Glories are in large pots, I find they get savaged by the molluscs if I put them in the ground.
I also have a Canna about to flower, it is grown from seed I nicked from a plant in a garden in Devon and it always seems to flower well before all the others.
Managed to resist a beer at lunch, but enjoyed the cake Dove.
Off to cook tea and will open some vino when OH gets home.
Have a good evening everyone.
How can you lie there and think of England When you don't even know who's in the team
Hi Lily & George Hamilton Temperature has dropped from 24 to 16 in last 20 mins Just back in to change clothes, shorts & T shirt a bit inappropriate now. No frozen smiley face.
I have a couple of bright pink/magenta dianthus flowering which is great as I split a big plant not that long ago. Lots of buds on all the clumps. Looking forward to the flower on the Phormium -it's obviously enjoyed the neglect..
I think Verd should have him as his avatar KEF
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
Thats a good question Fg., being a nicked seed I did not have a name. I will post a picture once it is open, but it has small flowers which makes me suspect it is related to the Indian varieties, which I think were the first introduced to this country.
As always KEF i shall take your advice, then blame you if I am not sober.

My Canna is miles away from flowering but it's grown loads. I like them, and used to have several, but they succumbed to bad weather and several house moves. This garden is very exposed so I may put off getting more till I get a good spot for them.
Should really do something about dinner since no one else in the house is offering...

That reminds me fidget - I promised Gardengirl a white buddleia. I haven't seen her on here for a while though. I lost a few over winter as everything blew away so I don't have that many and the labels all came out the pots too....
I'm quite enjoying the downpours for a similar reason - keeps the feral brats indoors.

Well, it was hot, then it went cold and dark and rained. At least it shut the screaming kids over the way up.
Mind you, it was probably a close run thing.. the noise from the shredder or the noisy kids. (I had ear muffs on)
Sunny again now, but I'm getting hungry. sweet n sour pork and rice I think.
I need to make a list of spare aquilegias for anyone comimg to Barnsdale. Also I will have rooted buddlejas in pink, white, globosa, or variegated.
Been to the dentist today.....why oh why, do they always say 'have a good rinse', while you're lying flat on your back??
