Going to Floors Castle tomorrow so I hope the weather isn't as bad as they say.
Spent the afternoon fighting with brambles, nettles, dandelions etc that are migrating under the fence from next door
The lupins are coming out now and so is a clematis on the garage wall. Just noticed three astilbes seem to have doubled in size and are drowning other plants. Thinking of chopping a bit off the side with plenty of roots to put elsewhere. Do you think it would be ok to do it now?
Went to a GC today and didn't buy a single plant Wonder if you can do that tomorrow Verdun
Lesley iv'e just finished that job as well, brambles, nettles and sticky willies all coming under the fence, decided to give the Chelsea chop to the periwinkle that i detest but OH likes, need to keep on top of the bleedin thing it roots everywhere, that's son home from his three day trekking and camping Duke of Edinburgh trip, showing me the blisters on his feet, my reply, "that's cause you normally sit on your behind all day playing games on your pc your a softy", mothers reply, "do you want me to get the foot spa down from the loft for your sore feet darling" therein lye's the difference between men and woman...
Well done on getting jobs done Percy. Don't agree about difference between men & women if youngster was mine & I am a female I'd say have a walk in bare feet on patio, then up and down garden watering plants and then soak them in a bowl of salt water. If they still hurt tough, won't be as bad on tomorrow
Lawn double cut - I even managed to miss the onions overhanging. I'm sure my partner will spot bits I've missed but it'll need cutting in a week so he can resume the duty!
Not sure how but I ended up back at Homebase and came away with a few more plants. I think someone had tried to hide them to have for themselves they were certainly well hidden! (I shall go and pop them on the bargin thread).
Pressure washed the paint off an old bench - hoping it will be dry enough sometime this forthcoming week to sand it down and paint it. Watch for the heavens opening over S25!
Well timed getting lawn cut Clari. Tomorrow is going to be interesting! Going to try and brave the Crocus open day. Let's hope it doesn't chuck it down when I am in the middle of a field.
Evening all. Grass cut and all edges done and bits pruned from hedge and the overhanging potentilla on the front path and loads of other 'stuff'. Too late for dinner by the time I came in so a banana and tea and 2 digestive bikkies have been consumed instead
Looks good KEF - any leftovers ?
Good book doc- and congrats to nephew. Thanks to both of you for kind words
Percy - re son I always have rough skin on my feet from walking and I use the electric sander on them. Works a treat
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
