LOL Mrs garden I don't usually buy off shopping channels but makes a change for OH to be interested and I was looking at these Lillie's today at the GC so know it's a good deal, £11.99 I think for 10 Hmmmmmmmm............
My favourite TV night tonight so have been absent. Had fish and chips, best batter I've ever made, used lager, but I think batter and chips is more than I can manage. No pud, felt bloated ever since.
Three arches like that will make a great pergola.
I mowed fenced flower garden and OH mowed the rest of the grass. Looks so much better. But the grass has died under the copper beech. It didn't lose it's leaves until the rains started so was late clearing them. Do you think bluebells would grow there? They grow in beech woods don't they?
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
How am I expected to sleep with all these thoughts and googlings of clematis and thornless roses and a possibility of jasmine ?
Loved your rose as well BL, just seen another on dif thread which looks similar but without the thorns.
Right, early start in the morning so must go to bed and forget about arches and pergolas and clematises (?) and roses and colours and fragrances and ... sweet dreams everyone.
Back to the grindstone here - but this is the week when i might start making it home before dark.
Found a birdsong tinternet site last night - might try and teach myself one song at a time - currently can only recognise great tit - which the tutorial tells me is the easiest one. But once upon a time i couldn't name plants - so progress is possible
Good morning all Another beautiful day has dawned - although it's going to be much cooler here with the wind coming off the North Sea - still, it'll be fine for digging that pond
Which internet site Chicky - I could do with some brushing up on my birdsong
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
i thought i'd use this one for starters. There is an RSPB one that is more extensive, but it costs £5 to download, so thought i'd see how i get on with these first few before i make the investment
