Hi all, im back and will chat soon! Thigh high in washing still! Daffs not flowered for my return but looking good, some crocuses in flower at least but not had a proper look round yet.
Glad things have sttled back to harmonious normal, it had started getting nasty as I left, well done everyone and Daniel.
Hello Mrs G welcome back Think Daniel deserves a pint!
Plans for the pond - well, so far ............. wildlife pond, vaguely round-ish about 1.5m in diameter - it will have to be partially under the biggest ash tree so we'll have to net it in the autumn. It'll have a deeper end and a sloping shallow beach. Planting around it will include pulmonaria, native primrose, hellebores, iris foetidissima arum italicum cyclamen, lamiums and ferns, with small shrubby stuff behind to provide cover for hedgehogs etc. and then nearer to the garden bench in that area, some bigger twiggy shrubs, with winter scent and catkins being two of the priorities, underplanted with snowdrops and aconites. More clematis and honeysuckles on the fence and trellis around the seat to make it almost arbour-like.
And of course, we've got a big new bed to create at the front of the house too
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
Pond sounding lovely Dove - look forward to following progress.
The rainy weather prompted an ironing spree. First time i have seen the bottom of the basket since Christmas. But at least the rain is settling all my new plants nicely in their homes. Can't believe its Sunday already - can i have another weekend in the garden starting tomorrow please ....
