Morning all - tgif . Working from home today, so at least i cut out the commute.
Last night i SAW my first tawny owl (we hear them all the time, but i had never seen one before) - he flew in front of my car headlights and then sat on a branch at the side of the track. We stopped the car (chicklet was with me) and watched for a minute before he went on his way again. Really sweet - much smaller than i expected, but huge wingspan when he flew. Made my day
Morning all. Frosty here but it's only been around 3 degrees most mornings here anyway so it doesn't feel colder- much nicer though. Clean and fresh instead of miserable and wet. Sorry you're getting it Verd- didn't mean to send it to you...
Aren't they beautiful chicky? When I was a child, we had an owl who often used to sit on the swing in the back garden.
Lovely comments to Bill last night. It's a situation none of us with children would ever want to go through, but we never know what's round the corner. I hope he continues to share his feelings with us here. Continued support is vital - wherever it comes from. My sister and BIL needed it many years ago.
No work for me today but other things to do. At least I'll get washing out. Simple things.
Stay safe if you have stormy weather everyone.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
Oh dear Verdun, sorry to hear you've got storms again
We've got bright sunshine from the east, but slightly overcast skies in the west. The Met Office forecast for Norfolk isn't too bad,
"A cold start with mist and patchy ground frost at first in eastern areas, this clearing during the morning. Generally cloudy with a band of rain or showers spreading eastwards, this perhaps sleety at times. Brisk easterly winds developing. Maximum Temperature 7 °C."
but it doesn't sound like a gardening day
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
Morning all. Dreary looking day here on all fronts It has felt like a long week and I am glad it is Friday. Time to get socks on and shoes and get going.
Don't like the sound of your storm Verd so I hope you stay safe and that others do too

Clari, no longer supposed to get snow, but you know what that means

Verdun, its so lovely here at the moment that i thought the forecast must have got it wrong - but the rotten stuff is obviously on its way over

Sorry Verd - I promise to do good now but my wand was in fighting mode after recent 'stuff' here...
Bill has good friends here Verd - even if we're only in cyberspace. I hope he'll continue to come here for support. I'm sure he will.
