Had a hard day at work and came in and read Bill's letter.
If mine turn out to be half as thoughtful and kind, Bill, I'll feel I've done a decent job. That letter will be a great comfort to you all as time goes on. x
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
We have been out most of the day. Went to take costumes for Christmas show back to lady who owns them, then went back to town to go shopping. As it was lunchtime by then and I was starving having had a 500cal day yesterday we thought we'd try the other big Chinese place. They have a choice of cooked things and a section where you choose your raw food and had it to a Chinaman with a wok who cooks it for you. When we had nearly finished Son 2 (dentist) and wife (pregnant) turned up - coincidence! So we stayed and chatted to them.
Then went to Hyper U supermarket for a change. Their gardening section was disappointing even though they were having a garden promotion. Then I remembered that daughter 1, Poitiers, said Leclerc was having a gardening promotion too so we went there, much better.
Bought fertiliser for plants in pots and roses, some really cheap trellis to grow sweet peas in veggie garden, and some wooden squares for temporary paths in veggie garden and bag of MP compost.
Now I'll go and read Bill's post and have a catch up.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Bill, what a wonderful letter and what a great son he was! Life just isn't fair sometimes, is it? He will be with you in your hearts forever. Love to you and your wife, take care!

Bill, you must be so proud of your son, thank you for sharing. Hugs and best wishes to you and your wife. Take care both of you x
Well, what a day it has been here; rain, hail, sun and wind. Tried to do a bit outside, but spent more time running in to shelter.
Thankyou for printing the letter Bill, it has certainly made me think.
