Just checked Met Office site - now it says 'severe gales' and -3C  image  Hatches are battened, plants are protected as much as possible without a greenhouse. The survivors will survive - those that don't will be replaced with something tougher.  I'm not going out there with more fleece and bubblewrap in this rain image

Brrr. Car says the temperature is 4degrees, but the wind is freezing. Real brass monkey weather.

The new thermostat plug  I got for the greenhouse seems to work better than the frost stat on the heater. I've turned the heater on full, and plugged it in through the thermostat plug.

The little birds are stocking up on food. I see 2robins, a blue tit, a coal tit ,a nuthatch and half a dozen long tailed tits on the feeders. A sparrow and a couple of blackbirds on the floor.

Ive just eaten Verduns caramel cream filled donut as he doesnt seem to be around.

  • Just in for a wee heat, stuck news on to find out that the actor, Alan rickman has died due to cancer aged 69 image, I thought he was a brilliant actor and another person who will be missed.

  • You reminded me there fidget, have to clean bird table before I fill it. Hope you enjoyed your donut image.

Hi all.  Hope everyone is OK

Lovely day here - wall to wall blue sky, though breezy.  A couple of hours cutting and stacking wood this morning, now trying to set up online access to my bank account - without success because, as it turns out, they've sent me the wrong number!  image   Shame, because I'm expecting a someone to pay me for my old engine.  But strangely, someone's paid in a substantial sum that I wasn't expecting!  Is this a scam? image

A skein of geese has just flown over, honking merrily and I'm going for a walk to have a look at the river. image

Steve, there is a scam.  Someone pays in a substantial amount, then a request comes for you to transfer it to a certain account, then the original transfer is recalled.

I would talk to your bank in person, and definitely don't transfer any money via any phone or email requests.
