  • Morning everybody,

Just had my porridge too, part of my new healthy eating regime, and I put a handful of summer fruits from the garden in it ( have a freezer full of it), really enjoying it, image

Chicky and Flowers, I feel for you re empty nest syndrome, my little boy is only 8 but even the thought of him going to uni fills me with horror and yet I know it would be the best thing for him. I was told by someone that when he gets to 18 I will be more than happy to wave goodbye but definitely not looking forward to that day yet. image

Rainy and windy here but I have h*******k to do as 3 guests are arriving today for a week, they are waiting for the keys to their new house in the local town.

Teaching this afternoon too so I better get on with my work, catch you all later, good day to all. image

Morning all. Wet and very windy here.

Do you have grandchildren yet, flowers? I had sad times when my 4 children left one after the other to go to Uni, and my 1st OH died in the middle of it all. But now I have 8 children, they all married lovely people, and 9 grandchildren - so life goes on, and gets very busy when they are here.

My cold isn't so bad this morning, must go shopping, haven't done proper shopping since 27th December. Loo rolls, tissues, milk and dog food are critical.

  • Morning Lizzie, glad to hear your cold is improving and hope yet for large family gatherings for me. image

Thanks DD. Just think, if Charlie has a wife and 2 children then that's x 4! And you may become friendly with his wife's family too.

    Morning all! Afternoon Pat image

Pat thanks for keeping an eye out for my friend Gary! As you can see from his site, he's an adventurous chap, its certainly not going to be a dull conversation catching up with him on his return! Your hubby is an absolute hero for what he does! And baking too!?! Is there no end to his talent! Glad you have a bit cooler temperatures and a bit of rain, hope your enjoying being able to get in the garden and do a bit of weeding!

Haven't been around much on here as I didn't want to be a moaner but the year hasn't really started well but thanks for asking SGL image had toothache for three weeks, work have totally changed my job and now I hate it and am not getting the practice I need in the car before my next test! image now have rain running down my wall in the toilet as the join of the flat roof extension is leaking! Oh and still have multiple occupancy going on upstairs with eight people living in two room flat and have had to move our sitting room into the basement to get away from the noise! image

Bet you wish you had never asked! image reading what you have all been up to cheers me though so thank you all very much!

Pdoc, your right, a valuable lot this bunch! image

Oh dear Wonky, doesn't sound good. Have you been to the dentist? If you are in pain it makes it harder to cope with the rest. The loo wall leak should be sort outable, but will cost something image but I do feel for you with the noise above. Are 8 people allowed to live in 2 rooms nowadays? I know you aren't a moaner from previous posts but there is a bit to moan about this time. Must be hard to cope with things like repairs when you have to go to work. Is work allowed to change your job without consulting you?

I must get a move on, washing to hang up somewhere, pouring outside, and shopping.

  • No BL not yet and not in any near future either, too busy climbing the job ladders and exploring other countries. Oldest has been with his girlfriend 5 yrs but she has the same mind set too( which I suppose is a good thing really).

    One day!

Yes BusyL, im usually a fairly cheerful, have a life code of low expectations avoid disappointment, sounds pessimistic but just keeps reality attainable. However I do feel as though this time it has all landed on me at once! image I'm afaraid I'm on a very low run of the social mobility ladder, in a badly paid job as is my hubby, rented accommodation and very little rights in the world and certainly no spare money! If I complain to the landlord to much he will just get rid of us, not the neighbours. That many people aren't allowed to live inna two room flat but it happens all the time. He is sending someone to do the roof tho so that's one battle won! image thankfully you all keep me cheered and I'm blessed with wonderful parents and an amazing hubby so the important bits are in place and very much appreciated! image

Wonky, you have a fantastic attitude!  Knowing what's really important to you, helps you keep the s**t stuff in its place in your life.  image

You should have been given a "statement of employment particulars" when you started your job (it's the law), which will give you the main outline of what you've signed up to do.  If your employer is now asking you to do something different, that's illegal.  (Though these things are, to be honest, often worded so loosely that you can find you've signed up to do more or less anything your employer wants from you - it's worth checking though, I reckon.)

Citizen's Advice will be able to help you with the multiple occupancy thing, I think.  Landlords aren't allowed to evict you unfairly these days (it's the law again!) - but many landlords like to throw their weight about and make their tenants as submissive as possible.  You're paying good money for your accommodation, and you have a right to live in it undisturbed.

Good luck with the toothache and the driving...

    xx

    Morning all.

Ouch Wonky, toothache is horrible. What a shame about noisy neighbours too. Do you think they are there long term? You had such lovely plans for your new flat. Shame you have to live in the basement because they are so inconsiderate. Hopefully  roof will get repaired as soon as poss. What will you do workwise, you loved it so much at first. Hope everything gets sorted Wonky, sending best wishes and a big hug.

Sun starting to appear, so after HW will go for a walk, more chocs to walk off image

Hope all poorly peeps are feeling better today.

Hosta, glad you're enjoying your hols.

    Have a good day everyone.
