Evening all and Happy New Year, well soon.

We've had a sort of party, with Daughter, Son, OHs, 5 grandchildren, starting with fireworks outside, then Champagne and fruity drinks, then nibbles like prawn vol-au-vents, sausage rolls, chicken wings, Gravlax, devils on horseback, mini pizzas, salad etc in the sitting room, pulled crackers, watched some Tom and Jerry. Children now in bed. Grown ups look tired, not sure how many will stay up.

    I have a sore throat.image

BL - image You've been so busy - as always - hope it's just a result of all that and you feel better tomorrow.

It's just started snowing here. Not sure if it'll lie - glad I'm not out partying!

It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
  • I'm not surprised you're suffering after-effects, BL!  That was a mammoth family party to cater for.  Hope you can get some time for yourself soon.  image

Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.

Can't wait to see if you're right, Dove. . However, have just dragged myself up from sleep,  got a cup of tea cooling beside the bed, HRH has just now come back in from her morning twinkle, Hubby busy doing something on his computer - nothing new this year! I'm hoping to be on line when your midnight comes around, but who knows what I'll be doing by then.

Dove, Hubby would like to know the recipe for fish pie (since he's the oven cook ). Should we re-institute the recipe thread? I haven't looked at it for ages. Or doesn't it matter if we clog up the forkers thread?image

You guys are the best. Thanks so much for your kind words - they are much appreciated. Like Runny I do feel as though you are friends - some of whom I've met - most I haven't but would like to. We've seen some ups and downs together haven't we?

Very quiet night for me catching up on some rubbish I've recorded over the last couple of weeks - will be nice when OH gets home tomorrow.

For now I'd like to wish you all a very happy, healthy & peaceful New Year - hope all these coughs & colds clear up soon. x

Edd, pretty much like the last 17 years. Much better than the previous 20.
