Poppet was was a good girl no tears or pulling of beard lol. Just a rather puzzled look on her face lol. One eyebrow up and head to one side. She does make us laugh with her facial expressions and she's only 5 months old. And of course I had lots of cuddles.
Off to get a few bits from SM this morning then post the last of village cards.
Hosta glad you have sorted hols, sounds lovely.
Hope Mr Chicky has an easy first day back, best wishes.
Hosta, glad you have your holiday sorted, sounds warm!!!
Dove, your feast sounds my perfect food, please may I join you
Pat yours sounds pretty yummy too
Bushman, you take care. Hope you not over doing it!
Star, I get to see our latest on Tuesday, can you believe how fast these babies have grown? We had three forum members become grannies at the same time, who was 3?
Chicky I wish Mr Chicky a gentle day back for his first day
Steve, do you get a lot of post Christmas pets who have been eating bones of birds ?
had a busy weekend, maybe did a wee bit more than I should do ended up on the couch yesterday ! Am getting quite excited now about our Yorkshire Christmas!
D and sil go today with his family, they have peace until Wed when we will all arrive. We actually have the little two bedroom cottage next door with son dil and baby clever eh? Last Jan when I was asked to find a suitable venue I spent 3 days searching we have a games room too???? 11 adults, 8 and 4 year old boys, 2 year old hyper girl and 6 mth old babe quiet time eh? At least it is less than a mile to walk to our Christmas dinner. Nobody cooking
praying the last two presents arrive today, ordered with express delivery, ha!

It's absolutely foul out there to-day. Chucking it down and blowing a gale.
Phew you've been a chatty bunch to-day.
Many thanks for your warm wishes re holiday. You're all too kind.
It's not 5 star luxury but I'd rather go with quantity than quality on this occasion. So long as the bedlinen is clean and the shower works, we don't need much more from a room than that.
I had a phone call from an old client, now friend last night and was telling him how much we'd paid ( £1,300) and he said
OH is sitting with his legs crossed in the chair opposite, pointedly doing nothing until I get off HIS LAPTOP so I'd better be quick... Anyway, good to read back a couple of pages and catch up a bit. SGL - lovely description of your little Poppet - their wise expressions are fantastic, aren't they! Our grandchildren descend tomorrow. I think I've got most fragile/precious things out of reach of the 21-month-old - and am now really looking forward to having them all.
Great news re hols, Hosta. More therapy for the knee... Maybe that's what you need too, Bushman - holiday in the sun? Though I'm in your camp, Dove, when it comes to temperature. Between 17 and 22C suits me down to the ground - hence Madeira is just the ticket.
We do trad Christmas lunch here, though with goose rather than turkey. Kids wouldn't have it any other way! And the grandchildren have developed a taste for Christmas pud and mince pies, I gather.
Result. OH has gone to get the ironing board...

Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.
Lily P, may have been me, my grandson will be 6 months old tomorrow.
I slept really well last night, first time for a week. The Travelodge in Norwich last week wasn't the quietest of places, bus station one side and main road the other and there was the excitement of completing on the cottage. I was exhausted yesterday.
Dove's meals always sound wonderful. We will be having a goose and a guinea fowl. Don't know about first course, friend is bringing it and she won't tell me! Another friend is bringing a trifle and there will be Christmas pud too. We will be 8 at table.
Daughter and family are coming to lunch, must get a move on, we are an hour ahead here in France.

LilyP - you're welcome to join us, but you must bring your own lobster - that's the one thing I'm not sharing
