Panda, what did I start with my little joking comment about your ring finger? Sorry about that.

re fires, all who have commented. It's just one of those things that stress me out every summer and I probably shouldn't have put today's map up. There is a continuous stream of updates every news broadcast but they don't really help unless they say that a particular fire has been controlled.  There is usually another more worrying one lined up to keep your interest. The last one I heard at news time was that they were worried about a big one near Albury/Wodonga.

im heading to bed shortly, so it'll be interesting to see what the morning news has to say.  We've actually just started to have a light rain - hope it lasts all night !

  • Hello folks - I'm back from being Mrs Christmas - all presents except Ma's safely delivered -  I'll deliver hers a bit closer to the Big Day image

Now I'm on the sofa - feet up - knitting out and the Olympia International Horse Show on the telly.  That means it really must be Christmas now image

Hello all. Back from lunch out. Friends invited us to their village restaurant, good meal. Friend didn't feel like cooking as husband wasn't well, but the docs have done a good job and he's much better. Shall flop on sofa in front of TV this evening. Hope there's something on.

Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
  • Hi All,

Like you BL, a floppy night on the sofa for me. Been baking all morning and then attended Charlie's Pony Club Christmas party (with said baking), he loved it but all that fresh air and excitable children has finished me off after an already hectic week socialising - only so much party spirit I can manage in a week. image

Going to see what's on now, all deflated after the end of SCD, I hope something new, interesting and fresh is on instead. What do you think the chances are? image

Have a good evening all. image

Phewimage. Thats the first, non perishable, shop done, and all squirreled away.  Now all i have to do is turn it into delicious puddings and biscuitsimage.  Not too bad in our local W ....in fact, quite a pleasant experience.  And I have Chicklets on hand to help with the baking image

So I shall join you in putting my feet up this evening, with a small glass of something nice and cold.

Oh, and my first hellebore is in bloomimage

Evening all, need to catch up on this thread after my weekend shifts. Weird at work. ..lots of touchy feely stuff at the moment not in an inappropriate way but just a sense of emotional sharing, if that makes sense?

...This morning I had a conversation with a female superior in which I was honest about what I saw happening between her and another member of staff and she totally opened up, put complete trust in me and I ended up giving her my number for anytime she just needed to talk.

I usually keep a very small social circle since I am too easily let down/get hurt, get everything I need friendship-wise from my OH and don't mind my own company but with last week's co-worker's hug and the support I'm giving to another dear soul who has found herself homeless over the last few weeks while at uni...well I suddenly feel as though I have friends image

Flynn is completely find so I think the bone stealing issue has resolved itself naturally, thank goodness

I'm extremely busy this coming week  (as I'm sure you all are too ) since I must help OH complete a very important deadline for the end of December, luckily it will get me employed in the new year as his assistant, with a very nice wage too although it will be irregular contracts so I'll stay baking

Off to read back what's been happening here,  hope all are safe, warm and with loved ones tonight

Wintersong - I think this time of year often brings out that kind of emotion. They must feel they can trust you which is very flattering and a mark of respect. I hope you have a lovely Christmas - you deserve it   image
