Morning everyone. No sign of anything yellow in the sky here I'm afraid
I'm sure Spike will be fine Verd
Glad the tree's stayed put chick. Wouldn't have been a good start to the year if that had come down
Not back to work till Monday as I had holidays still to take and it's our quietest time but it will give me time to recover from my lurgy. If daughter had remembered to bring more cake back from her Dad's I'm sure I'd get better more quickly...kids eh?
At least Christmas 2014 will be on a Thursday so it's nearer the weekend...only three hundred and fifty something days away....
I'll miss these Christmas smilies when they go!
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
Its stopped raining!!! The sun is shining, think i'll get a wriggle on and go for a walk. Need to shift chocs and cake. (Then i'll have a few more when I get back, he he , well it would be a shame to waste them!)
Good morning everyone. Blue skies here. I'm off to the supermarket, then more decorating. OH helped me cut the paper to length, but then had to go back to Newcastle again as his mother was hospitalised yesterday morning . His brother had to phone an ambulance, as his mothers chest infection got worse despite antibiotics, and she is struggling to breathe. His sister has come back from Wales, and they are taking it in shifts to sit with her. The consultant doesn't have much hope, as her lungs are filling up and her kidneys failing. He says they will keep her comfortable, and it will just be time. Last time she went into hospital,(fighting all the way and assaulting 2 ambulancemen, a paramedic and a doctor at the time) they gave her weeks to live, and put end of life care in place. The carers were exceptionally good, because that was four years ago. However I think that this time they are probably right. Alzheimers is a very cruel disease.
Not a very good start to the new year. Sorry to start on a downer, but I may be missing for a bit, sorting stuff out.
Oh fidgetbones I'm really sorry to hear about your mother in law. I hope the doctors can keep her comfortable and calm until she decides the time is right.
How lovely she has her family around her, I'm sure its of great comfort to her knowing that someone is holding her hand even if she isn't always aware who they are (Alzheimers does seem steal the most important memories from you). That's one thing that upset me about the old ladies in the nursing home with my grandfather - they never had visitors or people to come and hold their hand (or in the case of one visit I had there spend an enlightening hour while Grandfather snoozed discussing how the very toppless model from page three had such lovely hair).
Keep safe.
I hope the sun I can see peeking through the blinds is warming everyone just a little.
Thinking of you Chicky ... I am looking on the bright side and can see new vistas, lots of logs to keep you warm and loads of new planting opportunities. Good luck and a speedy resolution.
Thinking about you and your family Fidget. I used to work for a Dementia charity and also lost my Dad to Vascular dementia. Special hugs as I imagine many emotions are going through your mind x

Lovely day, suitable for a big stick pick up. Might even be time and energy to stuff the shredder as well
